Beauty double page spreads
I like the layout of this beauty page. For example, most of the space is filled, without making it look really cluttered and busy, instead it is organised and there is not too much white space left over. All the texts and images are evenly distributed across the page. I like the use of the colours because they stand out against the white and are bright and summery.
The images are a good quality, they are very clear and vibrant; you can see every little detail on them, which is effective as it portrays the brand and what the product is specified to do. It makes it more 3D and realistic rather than flat, compressed and boring. I like that it is split off into different sections of makeup/ skincare too. As it tells you what is where so you can skip out the parts you do not want to know about and can go straight to something you want to read.

I like the layout of this double page spread. For example the way in which one is a full page portrait and the other page has pictures as well as writing. The use of photographs on the page with the writing is effective because it breaks the long article up and gives you something interesting to look at. The photographs are strong because they are very bold and the use of black and white makes the red stand out even more. It emphasises her body shape and the glossiness of her hair, which fit in with the convention that women should be a certain body shape and always be presented in a perfect way (for example with their hair and makeup done).
Moreover, the full page photo is strong because Emma Watson is positioned central, so her head is in line with the middle and draws your attention straight to her face. There is an equal amount of space around her face. The lighting used really accentuates her eyes, making them look really bright and pretty. This captivates the reader's attention as it is like she is staring straight at you and makes you feel included. Also, her eye colour coordinates with her hair colour. The use of red lipstick symbolises passion and confidence, because it is very bold and eye catching; it is unmissable and keeps the attention on you. It emphasises that what you have to say is important and should be listened to.
