Allure magazine

This magazine fits in with the theme/ genre I want to base my lifestyle magazine on (beauty).
Firstly, the masthead is written in lower case. I do not like the effect of this, I think that it makes it look unprofessional and more like it is made for a younger audience. So I will avoid doing this in my own magazine. Also, although the colour is very eye catching, it does not really match the rest of the magazine. I think a blue would have looked better to match the model's eyes or a green to match her outfit.
The models placement is very central and her eyes are fixated on the camera creating a relationship between her and the audience. The colour of her eyes is bright and captivating. The use of the eye makeup helps to bring out and complements the colour of them. Which is effective as it is more likely to draw you in and pick up the magazine.
The use of the title 'The Look-Younger Issue' suggests it is aimed at an older/ middle-aged audience that want to improve their appearance and appear younger than they are. It gives an insight that there will be tips included in the magazine so this will encourage more women to buy it. As they are tricked into thinking they need to look more youthful.
